The ‘Legacy tuned by STI 2006’ models were released, based on the BL/BP Legacy Station Wagon and Legacy Sedan 2.0GT spec.B, with additional components on the base cars, as in the previous year,. The selling point of this model was the balanced handling, which was made possible by special installation of components such as Bilstein dampers and reinforced low down springs (specially tuned for STI), a newly developed front lower arm bar and STI pillow ball rear suspension link. Like the previous year’s models, these cars also featured Brembo 17-inch brake callipers, STI stainless mesh brake hoses, and STI 18-inch aluminium wheels to dramatically improve driving quality. As for the interior, the cabin was given the same special front seat material, meter panel, and automatic transmission selection knob (or manual transmission gear stick) as the previous year’s models. The sophisticated image of the exterior with an entirely black interior was well received.
