Based on the 4-door sedan WRX STI, the S206 is a complete car with enhanced driving performance and feel, as well as a revamped interior and exterior quality. The ‘S’ symbol has been added as a sign of the pinnacle of the STI models. It is also positioned as an ultimate road going car which embraces the ‘philosophy of driving performance’ of the WRX STI racing car that won the SP3T class in the 2011 Nürburgring (NBR) 24-Hour Race. As a special class-winning commemorative package, the S206 NBR CHALLENGE PACKAGE with its carbon roof and dry carbon rear wing was made available in a limited number of 100 units which sold out almost immediately by pre-order upon release. The power unit provides a maximum output of 235kw (320 horsepower) and a maximum torque 431Nm (44kgf m) through the use of a ball bearing turbo and specially tuned ECU. Furthermore, the model features Bilstein dampers and coil springs as well as original chassis parts such as a Flexible Tower Bar, and is fitted with BBS 19-inch forged aluminum wheels combined with Michelin tires. As a result, this model further evolves the‘flexible yet elegant driving feel’.
