Based on the SUBSRU WRX STI, SUBARU and its subsidiary STI, which undertakes all motor sports activities, exclusively developed the engine and suspension together for the S208 to make this model ‘the ultimate driving car’, achieving the best performance and the highest quality in the S series’. Special features have also been added to the exterior and interior to this top end model among the STI complete cars.
Compared to the previous model, the S207, improved engine output and acceleration performance along with the use of a carbon roof to lower the center of gravity enhance the driving pleasure which the WRX STI provides.
The engine is specially tuned to increase its maximum output to 329PS. And a quick 11:1 steering gear ratio and STI's original parts including a Flexible Tower Bar are complemented with the variable damping force suspension DampMatic®II in the front, and front and rear active torque vectoring effect to achieve a flexible yet elegant driving feel with sharp cornering.
In addition, driving performance has been improved by incorporating STI BBS 19-inch forged aluminum wheels, 255/35R19 tires, and a dry-carbon trunk lip spoiler.
Special specifications used to enhance the expectation of driving performance and a joy of ownership include a large front under spoiler for the exterior, and STI RECARO front bucket seats and a special sport meter for the interior.
In addition, the NBR CHALLENGE PACKAGE grade inspired by the Nürburgring 24-hour race in which WRX STI continues to participate has been made available with a dry-carbon rear spoiler with the S208 logo and a dry carbon roof.
