Tokyo, April 1, 2019 - Subaru Tecnica International Inc. (STI) today announced that Yasuo Hiraoka (59) would replace Yoshio Hirakawa as President of STI, effective April 1, 2019.
Since joining Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. in 1982, Yasuo Hiraoka has taken on various roles mainly in engineering units. He worked at the Engine Design Department of the Engineering Division where he was responsible for the development of power units as well as serving as Manager of the Product & Portfolio Planning, Compliance & Certification and Design Quality Control Departments. From this day forward, he will lead the operations of the company, leveraging expertise gained from his wide experience in engineering development units.
His predecessor, former President Yoshio Hirakawa has assumed the role of Technical Advisor of SUBARU Corporation and STI, effective April 1, 2019.
